The most dramatic elevation range in Europe. Deep glacial valleys sit beside 4,000 m walls, so a relief cut of the Alps produces the sharpest light-and-shadow contrast of any European terrain.

A narrow, continuous wall rather than a scattered massif. In relief it reads as one clean spine across the panel — one of the most graphic silhouettes to frame in a 30×40 format.

Lower peaks but enormous ground coverage, with the Făgăraș ridge and the Transfăgărășan corridor giving strong directional texture. The sweeping arc suits a wide crop.

Vertical limestone towers separated by flat pasture. Because the transitions are abrupt rather than gradual, the relief carves into isolated pinnacles — the most tactile of the European ranges.

Compact enough to render an entire range on a single A4 panel at high detail, with glacial tarns and steep granite ridges retained at full resolution.

Limestone massifs rising almost straight out of the Cantabrian coast. The sea-to-summit gradient over ~20 km gives an unusually steep relief profile for its modest altitude.
